When I was younger, I asked my parents about life - what is it all about? why am I here? what am I supposed to be doing anyway? No one seemed to be able to answer my questions. The internet wasn't available to me when I was a young girl, so it wasn't until 1985, when I was 35 years old, that I found some answers.
I have always felt a deep connection with animals and nature; it was a closeness, a oneness that I couldn't describe to anyone. I seemed to know what animals were thinking, and I knew animals could read my mind. But, talking about this to people wasn't an option back then.
I can't remember who recommended the book, or how it fell into my hands, but I couldn't put it down. Behaving As If The God In All Life by Machelle Wright finally answered many of my questions. I spent the day reading it, and re-reading it, and ordering the flower essences because I always believed in the healing ability of flowers, of nature.
Machelle talked about being able to connect with the energy in inanimate objects. Why not, I thought. Everything is created from energy and energy has intelligence, so why isn't it possible? It was Nikola Tesla who said: 'If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration. So, I started tuning into the world around me and listening to what it was saying.
I started really listening to my horses and talking to them as I would any intelligent being. Please stop talking to your animals in commands. Talk to them as you would your best friend because animals, like people, are sentient beings. Forget what some of these "so-called" experts have to say about animals being stupid or less than. Animals - all animals - can think, remember, feel, reason and act, just like people. They have an emotional range like people and they are far more intuitive, or psychic, than people. Some folks say that animals react from instinct. I think it's a matter of semantics, but animals react intuitively, from their intuition.
Animals see our aura, or the energy field around us, and they can tell a lot about us by reading our energy. Animals also read and understand our thoughts and feelings. I like to use this example: I had a rescue dog named Fraiser who was a "vibe tester". I contacted a local logger because I needed some trees thinned out and when this man came to the door, Fraiser would not let him in the house. Fraiser stood in between us and nipped at him. Later, I discovered that this man was not honorable and was going to steal from me. From that day forward, I listened to what Fraiser had to say about people because he was a lot more intuitive than I was.
After reading "the book", I practiced respecting the God Energy in all life. Sometimes, I didn't succeed. I found it much easier to respect the God Energy in animals, insects and nature than I did in some people. Here's an example I share with people when it is black fly season in NH. At first, they don't believe me....Everyone in NH hates black fly season, and during the month of May, they are out in full force. Can you imagine all the hate energy that is directed to these flies by almost the entire population of the State? How would you react if all this negative energy was being directed towards you?
One day in May, I went to the barn to feed my horses their noon time hay. When I walked into the barn, there were black flies all over the window trying to get out. My first reaction was to grab the fly spray and annihilated them. But, I stopped myself. I put down the spray and went to the window. I started talking to the flies and told them that I respect the God Energy in them and also their right to be here. I will set you all free if you promise not to bite me or my horses ever again. And with that, I set them free.
Every day, a neighbor and I would walk up the road, and she was always bothered by the black flies. She was open to the concept of energy and understood that we are all energetically-connected, but gave lip service to practicing what she preached. I told her of my experiment and I could tell she didn't believe me until one day, she noticed some black flies circling my head, but not biting me. I acknowledged them by saying out loud that "I respect your right to be here, but please leave me alone," and they flew off. She was amazed, but still to this day, sends them negative energy.
Last May, I brought a hot blueberry muffin to my neighbor's house. He was standing in the field swatting at the black flies. They don't like that, I said. You're sending them negative energy, and since like attracts like, they will continue to bite you. He noticed that there were no black flies around me, so I told him of my experiment. If you respect their right to be here, send them positive energy from your heart, and acknowledge the God Energy in them, they will not bite you. He didn't buy it - he continued to swat and swear at them.
There are never any black flies or mosquitos at my house and I believe it is because I acknowledge and respect their right to be here.
Getting back to horses....I have a very special horse - Harmony Hills Hallelujah, aka Hal, who understands every word I say. He is the love of my life and I am his. He's 17 hands and weighs at least 1800 pounds. I have complete faith and trust that he will never hurt me. When he came to me six years ago, he was 8 months old - I looked into his eyes and promised that I would never hurt him or put him in harms way. I talk to him in complete sentences and he understands every word I say to him.
One day, I was shaking the apple tree and Hal was watching me. I threw an apple and it landed behind him. I said turn around, and he did. Now, look down to your right - he did and found the apple.
Whenever I want to do something with Hal, or introduce him to something new, I always tell him what I am going to do and mentally send him a picture. The first time I introduced him to a rubber snaffle, I showed it to him and asked him to open his mouth. He did what I asked. Sometimes this energy stuff even amazes me.
When our energy is off, our animals know it, believe me. In another section, I wrote about my experience with black bears and how I maintained a sanctuary for them. The word got out that I could communicate with them and people wanted to see how lovingly the bears responded to me. People would show up at my house hoping to see the bears. One day, an angry man drove up, and the bears vanished. They could feel his anger and wanted no part of it. Within minutes of his leaving, the bears came out of the woods.
There were times when I invited my friends to see the bears. I provided donuts and cookies and the bears would ever so gently take to cookies from my friends. Even the Fish and Game officer was amazed with my relationship with the bears. One day, an officer came to my door asking for my help. He said that there was a marauding bear in town and if the bear didn't leave, he would be shot. I don't know how you do what you do, but please speak to this bear. Energy knows no bounds - all I did was to tune into the bear's energy and tell him what is going to happen to him if he didn't move on. The officer returned a day later to say that the bear left. Animals, like people, have free will to use their energy any way they want. I gave the bear the information and he chose to move on rather than to be killed. Remember this: free will is always involved in the choices we make.
More later, but please remember that the Godhead (Father and Mother God) has created everyone and everything in this universe; we are all connected by God's Energy and we all have a right to be here. We are all equal in God's eyes, but differ only in terms of enlightenment, and by this I mean soul age....some of us are older than others. I will explain this in the next post.
All the best!
