Your gestures need not be grandiose because something as simple as a smile can elevate a person's vibrations. When you are in line at the market, let the person in back of you holding one item, go before you. Hold the door for someone - male or female. We humans need a break sometimes. Take your dog for that much needed walk; spend some quality time together. Make time for your parents, children, friends, spouse, companion or lover. Respect yourself and others. Can we ever know true love without respect? Respect and honor differences in appearance or color because underneath we are all the same. Love yourself - don't do anything to harm yourself physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Appreciate yourself and your uniqueness, not to the point of being egotistical, but just appreciate who you are and the gifts you have been given to make the world a better place. Do not allow what you have or don't have in the way of material possessions to define you. Doing so makes you feel either superior or inferior to others and that is not the case. We are all equal children of God who differ only in terms of enlightenment. Remember what Eleanor Roosevelt said: " No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Being positive adds to the Light of the world; being negative adds to the darkness. Put on a happy face - it will elevate your vibrations and the vibrations of those around you. Remember: much is expected of those that have much. Share because all that I AM and all that I have belongs to God and is only on loan to me. God is the owner- we are the caretakers. Gratitude is the attitude - be grateful for each new day even though there are clouds in the sky because one day the sun will shine on you. We are here to learn our lessons, and some of those lessons are difficult, and this I know firsthand, but never give up. Relax. You do have a purpose and a reason for being here, so flow with the rhythm of life and allow you destiny to unfold as it surely will. Volunteer. Folks do not realize that when they give of themselves, they give a gift of unconditional love, which is the greatest gift of all. Volunteer at a nursing home, shelter, school or animal shelter. Your energy, kindness and compassion are needed everywhere. Thoughts are energy forms. Think kind thoughts because stinkin' thinkin' pollutes the environment. Remember: it is not what goes into your mouth that is important, but what comes out of it. Take a stand against all abuse - child, animal or spousal - and let your voice be heard. Take a stand against bullying - do not condone it because bullying is never acceptable. Be kind - "Love is the greatest energy force in all of the Universe, and whenever you are loving that helps you more than anything else you can possibly do.” Recycle!!! Don't waste Mother Earth's Resources. Pick up litter in your neighborhood. When shopping, ask yourself if the item is a need or a want. Honestly, how many pairs of shoes do we really need? Use environmentally-friendly products. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but this is the only earth/home we have. Have the desire to leave earth a better place than how you found it. Be informed; be responsible and take action for a better world. Resist the temptation to flip off someone. I know this is a difficult one sometimes. Tell your parents, friends, siblings, significant other how you feel about them. We need to hear that we are loved. This is how we heal relationships. Don't sweat the small stuff, and remember, it's all small stuff. Remember: we're all walking wounded. When in doubt: give - pay it forward. Anna Sewell, the author of Black Beauty, once stated, “My doctrine is this, that if we see cruelty or wrong that we have the power to stop, and do nothing, we make ourselves sharers in the guilt.” And, listen to your heart as its advice will never lead you astray. The Voice by Shel Silverstein "There is a voice inside of you that whispers all day long, 'I know that this is right for me, I know that this is wrong'. No teacher, preacher, friend or wise man can decide What is right for you - just listen to the voice that speaks inside." |
